First cottage weekend...

Last weekend I went to the cottage with my BFF for a weekend of work and relaxation. We had a lovely time at "Hotel Healey" - her parents took great care of us. We ate delicious meals (including pancakes and bacon, chicken salad, turkey dinner and baguette french toast), sat by the fire listening to non-stop acoustic (my favourite), lots of good conversation and I even got some work done around our cottage.

5 things. weekend edition.

1. i (along with many others) am extremely excited about the weekend ahead. matty and i will be heading out tonight to drop our pooch at grandma's and then head to a winter wonderland weekend in montebello for a wedding weekend. 

2. we are going to get to see many good friends. and have lots of good laughs.

3. the weekend will be filled with fun winter activities (curling, skiing, hockey, sleighride etc.,) and of course the wedding!

4. i have known the bride and groom since i was 8 years old...if not earlier. and i am excited to watch them get married. 

5. we have a special surprise planned that will hopefully turn out rather fun. 

bonus. i hope to bring back some fun pictures to share!

ethans birthday...

this weekend i had the chance to re-connect with a friend. 

it was her sons 2nd birthday - and oh my he has grown!

i haven't seen her in quite some time, 

with our busy lives we just didn't make time for each other.

and before we knew it, too much time had passed.  

so this was step 1 in getting back in touch. 

(mom, dad, birthday boy (ethan) and birthday girl (cousin avery)

they had a huge play place rented out for the birthday boy and birthday girl. 

even the adults were able to break out their inner child. 

i hope one day when i have kids they will be

close like these cousins are! 

the hugs they were giving each other was soo cute.

happy birthday ethan (and avery!).

ottawa weekend...

i was hoping that i would have a 

fun photo weekend adventure post

from my trip to ottawa.

unfortunately some unruly weather, a lost camera and

things not going as planned...

ended up in just a few pictures to share.

overall, we had a great weekend. 

we were able to see a friend from university and her man, 

some of our cottage friends and matts family (aunt/uncle x2, grandpa).

we took in a {pretty horrible but fun nonetheless} sens game.

i truly love the city of ottawa and was disappointed that 

we couldn't go skating on the canal and wander around the market.

instead we had some great conversations

and even did a little shopping.

after being away all weekend

i am looking forward to a quiet week with a lot of time to read.

friday

i finished my book

had a girly evening with my bff - erin. 

we ate ice cream sundaes, had girly chats and watched the kids are alright.

saturday

i met up with my bff jenny and we got massages and pedis, drank tea and 

generally just goofed around. 

i had a delicious dinner at one of my fav. restaurants with matts

parents and grandpa. it was lovely. 

after we watched the social network.

sunday

we had a nice sleep in. 
a delicious brunch and watched toy story 3. 
went to the tim burton exhibit downtown. 
his art is really imaginative and creative.

now we are settling in for a night at the grammy's. 


oh my. it was so lovely! does it have to end?!
